The Jeff Flottman Foundation supports the following organizations:
Avenue of Life shares in the city and county-wide mission to end homelessness for families and children in Kansas City. It also shares in the belief that all persons should be linked to mainstream resources and that strong collaboration and community partnerships with other local agencies who serve the same target population are key in providing comprehensive wrap-around services and ensuring that children and families have every resource they need to better their situation.
One of our key values is in utilizing collaboration to expand our reach and effectiveness in the community. We are able to accomplish so much more due to our extensive base of community partners. Avenue of Life currently has over 3,000 community volunteers that assist in providing wrap-around services! Our community partners contribute to the success of this program through volunteer labor, in-kind donations, word-of-mouth referrals to the agency and program, as well as funding assistance. |
Urban Christian Academy is a tuition-free, private, Christian serving predominately low-income families living in Kansas City. We seek to provide a holistic education marked by academic excellence where students are exposed to Jesus and through Him are nurtured and inspired to become leaders in their community. We launched our inaugural kindergarten class fall 2014 with 15 kindergarten scholars. Our goal is to see our students on a different trajectory than the one their zip code dictates. We believe that while Jesus is the linchpin to transformation, an excellent high-quality education is a vehicle to a myriad of life options that we believe our scholars deserve and are capable of. We believe that lack of resources should not inhibit students from the opportunity to receive a high quality, Christ-centered education. We now serve 48 scholars (16 scholars per class in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades). We ended last year with over a 95% proficiency rate in both math and english school wide. Our plan is to continue to grow one class per year through 12th grade.
